Our Vision
To build a future where every young person, regardless of their background has the opportunity, support, and belief to reach their full potential and become a leader who inspires others.
About Us
Responsibility 2 Inspire (R2I) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underserved youth through mentorship, sport, and educational opportunity. By providing free football camps, academic support, and meaningful community programming, R2I creates pathways for young people to build confidence, develop life skills, and reach their full potential both on and off the field.
Founded by University of Alberta varsity football player Chevy Thomas, R2I was born from a deep commitment to giving back and creating opportunities for the next generation. Growing up, Chevy recognized the powerful role that mentorship, structure, and community support play in shaping young lives. Through his experiences in sport and leadership, he developed a passion for ensuring that every young person regardless of their circumstances has access to the guidance and resources needed to succeed.
In addition to his work on the field, Chevy has been actively involved in community advocacy and leadership initiatives, including work with nonprofit organizations and diversity and inclusion efforts within the Government of Alberta. His vision for R2I reflects a belief that true success is measured not only by personal achievement, but by the ability to uplift others.
At its core, R2I is more than a program it is a movement to inspire responsibility, build character, and empower youth to become leaders in their communities.

Our Purpose
To inspire young people to take ownership of their future while providing the support, guidance, and resources needed to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
